With little over a month to go until Final Fantasy 7 Remake is finally here, we're getting new information about the game seemingly all the time at the moment. This week's treat from Square Enix is the full opening movie to the remake.
You can see the complete opening that preludes the action of Final Fantasy 7 Remake just below. We go from a general look at Midgar, with children gazing up at the monolithic Mako Reactor, to Aerith praying in an alleyway, all the way to Cloud, Barret, Jessie, and co. leaping off the train to kick start the opening bombing mission.
And boy, does this whole thing look stunning. Cloud leaps off the train with such grace and style, and it's straight from this opening movie that we'll be stepping into his shoes for the very first time. The remake sure is shaping up to be something special.
Last week, the full opening was actually shown for the first time at the Tokyo Sky Tree exhibit. A rough recording from the event made its way online, showing the children staring at the Mako Reactor, and Aerith in the alleyway. As we guessed at the time, this turned out to be the complete opening for the full game.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake finally launches on April 10, 2020 for the PS4. Remember the year's exclusivity period for the PS4 also begins from the April launch, so there's always a chance the remake could come to PC in April 2021.
