Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Coming West In July

Square Enix HD remaster of Ivalice finally has a release date.

Today during the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Celebration event, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will launch on PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe on July 11, 2017. The title is a full HD remaster of 2006's Final Fantasy XII. Players step into the shoes of Vaan, a young man who lost his family during a war in the kingdom of Dalmasca.

New key art for the game.

"Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age improves upon the 2006 classic Final Fantasy XII, now more beautiful and easier to play than ever," explained Square Enix in its overview of the game. "The high-definition remaster introduces several modern advancements, including reconstructed battle design and a revamped job system. With newly implemented trophies and share functions, as well as stark visual and sound improvements in true HD for the first time, players both returning and new to the game will experience a grand adventure that spans the world of Ivalice in an entirely fresh and improved way."

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will offer the Zodiac Job System to Western audiences for the first time. In addition, players have the all-new HD presentation, true 7.1 surround sound, the option to switch between the original and a remastered soundtrack, a new trial mode, and PlayStation 4 trophy support.
