Final Fantasy XIV Players Can Grab Monster Hunter World's Rathalos as a Mount
And some armor, but we're all about that mount.
Square Enix and Capcom already showed off the upcoming crossover between Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter World earlier this summer. Final Fantasy XIV players can team up to take on the Monster Hunter's mascot-dragon Rathalos, while Monster Hunter World folks can fight Behemoth.
Today, Square Enix showed off a few more details about its part of the collaboration. A new trailer highlights players teaming up to fight a Rathalos on Stormblood's Azim Steppe. It looks to be a Light Party encounter, only requiring a team of four players like many dungeons and some Trials.
Finishing the encounter looks to net you some Rathalos-themed armor, though it's not like the sweet Rathalos armor from Monster Hunter World. More importantly, players can seemingly pick up a Rathalos mount! There's no details on drop rate, but I'd guess the mount is probably not an easy reward.
Unlike some collaboration events, Rathalos won't be a limited time offer. Instead, the king of the skies will be around in Azim Steppe on a permanent basis. The monster will be joining the game on August 2, 2018.
