Fire Emblem's New DLC Gives the Gatekeeper a Rival

There's not enough room in this monastery for the both of us.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses' new Cindered Shadows DLC is now available to all Expansion Pass owners, complete with a brand new house in a brand new location. This house has got everything you could want, including a new Gatekeeper!

This Gatekeeper isn't called "Gatekeeper," mind you. This new keeper of the gate is actually called the "Abysskeeper," and he stands guard between the huge Garreg Mach Monastery, and the small underground sanctum where the Ashen Wolves students have been in hiding.

In the main portion of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, the Gatekeeper was beloved by all. He quickly became a favorite character within the Fire Emblem community at large, mainly thanks to his jovial attitude and constant support for Byleth and co.

The Abysskeeper is like his swankier cousin. The Gatekeeper might have ascended to fame in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but the Abysskeeper lurks in the shadows with the cool kids of the Ashen Wolves.

I've played a couple hours of the Cindered Shadows DLC now, and the new students plus the Abysskeeper definitely give off a "cool kids that smoked at your school" vibe. No, you can't hang with them, they're too slick and sauve for you. Scrub.

Fire Emblem's Cindered Shadows DLC is out now for Expansion Pass owners. There's currently no way to purchase the new house separately, so you'll need to a grand total of $24.99 for the pass that includes the Ashen Wolves students.
