Fortnite 3.1.0 Patch Opens Up New Areas, New Weapons

Explore. Shoot. Burn. Buuuuuurn.

Fortnite's 3.1.0 patch is live, and like last month's 2.5.0 patch, it's a big'un. There are notable additions to both the Save the World story campaign and the Battle Royale arena. Look for new weapons, new environments, and innumerable bug fixes and performance tweaks.

At the front and center of the update is Lucky Landing, an Asian-themed point of interest for Battle Royale that's located on the southern edge of the island. Battle Royale also received a new weapon, the Hunting Rifle. It's great for scope-free long-distance shots, though it can only hold one round in its chamber.

I want ten.

Save the World's major gun upgrade is a little spicier. The "Dragonfire Auto-Shotgun" breathes a cone of fire, perfect for taking down multiple Husks at once. Another noteworthy addition to Save the World is the Brave Beginnings quest, which lets you travel with Val on her mission to become a defender.

These updates join the additions we received two weeks ago with the 2.5.0 patch, including Battle Royale's foe-scattering Impulse Grenade. Wheeee!

Additionally, Epic performed all kinds of fixes and adjustments to the graphics, sound, and UI in both Save the World and Battle Royale 3.1.0. Visit the official Fortnite website for a full listing of what changed with the new patch.
