New Fortnite LMG out now for Battle Royale

Yet another new weapon is available in Fortnite Battle Royale, added as part of the V3.5 content update. Is the new LMG any good?

One thing Epic Games is fairly good at is adding brand-new weapons to the mix in Fortnite Battle Royale. Players who load up the game today are treated to another new item coming to the roster. The Machine Gun has been joined by its little brother, the Light Machine Gun (LMG).

Update - 19/04/2018: The Light Machine (LMG) in Fortnite Battle Royale is out now, added as part of the Fortnite V3.5 Content Update. You can see it just below in all its light and machine gun glory.

It's the Fortnite Light Machine Gun! Or LMG, as the cool kids say.

According to Epic, this light machine gun has a fast rate of fire and a 100 round magazine. This is said to make the gun a great weapon for keeping teams pinned down while firing from a safe distance.

Original Story: The teaser text says the weapon will have a fast rate of fire, a large magazine, and struggle with a slow reload. Some version of the image above show the weapon Blue, pointing to Uncommon, Rare, and Epic variants of the weapon.

The Light Machine Gun is already a weapon in the PVE Save the World version of Fortnite, so this is more of a translation of an existing weapon. The Save the World version of the weapon hold 100 bullets in the magazine, which is more than enough to shred some cover or another player.

The Light Machine Gun joins its big brother the Minigun, which Epic Games added to the game back in February, and the smaller Submachine Gun, which has been in the game since launch. This is the sixth weapon that's been added to the game overall, following the Handcannon, Hunting Rifle, Remote Explosive, Heavy Shotgun, and Guided Missile. It's likely that the Light Machine Gun will be coming to the all-new Vending Machines Epic has added to the game with the newest patch.

There's currently no release date for the weapon, but it's likely the weapon will be a part of the next patch, which should come at the end of this week. With the addition of the Light Machine Gun, it looks like the leaked weapons datamined by Storm Shield One are real, meaning players could see Precision Rifle, Auto Shotgun, and Hammercrush Slug Gun soon.
