Fortnite Introduces the Infinity Blade in Patch Notes v7.01

Creative Mode opens up to all on December 13.

Epic previously teased that there'd be a brand new addition to Fortnite Battle Royale in the form of a melee weapon, a first for the game. Today, the Infinity Blade has been added to the game, through update 7.01.

Over on the official Fortnite website, you can check out the full patch notes for the new update. You can see the Infinity Blade just below, which can be found on Polar Peak in-game. It deals 75 fire damage to players, and is capable of taking out entire structures. Interestingly enough, only one blade will appear per match.

Elsewhere in Battle Royale, when the X-4 Stormwing plane is shot down, all players and the pilot on board will take 25 damage from the crash. The Creative Mode, which was previously only available to Battle Pass holders, will open to all Fortnite players on December 13.

In other Fortnite news, the previous week's challenges are still available to be completed. Head over to our Fortnite Forbidden Locations guide if you want a hand with one of these tasks.

He's written for The Guardian, Paste Magazine, and Kotaku, and he likes waking up when the sun rises and roaming the nearby woods with the bears and the wolves.
