Fortnite Kicks Off 14 Days of Summer With a New LTM Every Day

Enjoy some fun in the sun...indoors with Fortnite.

Epic Games is kicking off summer vacation with a 14 Days of Summer event that will add a new limited time mode each day, and unvault a new weapon for 24 hours only. The event starts just as Epic employees take a two-week vacation themselves.

In a blog post, Epic Games announced a new, two-week event where every day there will be a new LTM mode, a temporarily unvaulted weapon, a new daily challenge and free reward, and new outfits in the item shop.

The event extends beyond the battle royale mode as Creative will have a new daily featured island and Save the World players will get new quests every day. Completing all 14 quests will unlock a new weapon.

Epic published a list of the limited time modes you'll be seeing in Fortnite's battle royale mode, but the order in which they go live will be random. The LTMs include events like Heavy Metal Squads where only heavy weapons can be used, to Splashdown Squads where players can only damage each other using a new water balloon item.

Each day a new vaulted weapon will also be released for 24-hours. These are weapons that, for some reason or another, have been released then put away by Epic Games. Perhaps they were too overpowered, or just silly. Either way, you'll get a chance to play with them again.

The event begins just as Epic Games employees enjoy a two-week summer vacation themselves. The move could be seen as a response to reports that Epic employees face an incredible amount of crunch and work hours to keep the massively successful game up and running.
