Fortnite Season 10 Trailer is an Ode to... Fortnite

We're going back through Fortnite history with this one.

Fortnite is launching into its tenth season with a new story trailer, and it's all the greatest hits of Fortnite thus far. The first glimpse at what Season 10 might hold for Fortnite's narrative, both ambient and alive, looks like a walk back through time.

Posted earlier today, the new trailer for Season "X" shows Fortnite character Jonesy caught in an explosion from an orb, before ending up in a void that seems to contain relics of Fortnite past. There's the mysterious cube and the blue butterflies, various seasonal cosmetics, and hey, even a golf cart.

Jonesy lands back in the world of Fortnite and realizes he's right in the blast radius of a giant meteor in a pristine Dusty Depot. It seems like it's warped him back to the moment before the meteor hit the Fortnite map.

The implication seems to be that this new season of Fortnite will be about retreading old ground, possibly revisiting prior versions of the map before radical changes happened. Fortnite has led the charge on altering major parts of the map, whether slamming meteors into it or cramming some portals to the Upside Down into different areas. But if this means a potential retcon of past events could happen too, that's interesting. Fortnite's map is always evolving, but a reset could open up new potential for more world-building. Or maybe this is an Endgame-style time-travel caper? I mean, either way, you're still playing Fortnite.

We'll find out pretty soon, I guess. Fortnite's tenth season starts tomorrow, so nab that patch if you want to be the first diving in and looking for what secrets the time orb might hold.
