Fortnite is Starting to Get Pretty Chilly as Season 7 Approaches

Now players can see their breath while the storm cloud inches getting closer.

As the Starks may say, Winter is coming... to Fortnite. Or so says eagle-eyed fans who have noticed a storm cloud approaching, as well as dropping temperatures. Players know it's getting cold on the colorful island because they've noticed condensation of their breath appearing, as if the characters were taking a stroll on a cold night. It's a very slight addition, but it's nothing new for the forever-subtle foreshadowing mill of Fortnite.

It's hype season for Fortnite, as Season 7 is just around the corner in a little over a week. As Fortnite Season 6's exciting run with a cube, a mysterious glossy void, and more comes to a close, Epic Games seems to be shifting its focus to a more timely theme: winter. On Reddit, a player even generated a choppy timelapse GIF of the storm cloud's looming presence. With the holidays and cold season ahead, the rumors and teasers for Season 7 are building it up to be the most thematically appropriate season thus far for Fortnite.

This week, Epic also revealed that Fortnite will allow gifting for a limited time, where you can send your friends emotes, skins, and more for the holiday season. Yesterday patch v6.31 hit, bringing with it a Team Rumble limited time event, a new shotgun, and miscellaneous balance changes and Save the World mode additions.
