Fortnite Season Three Will Debut with a New Score by the Composers for The Hurt Locker and Justice League

For those about to rock and shoot, we salute you.

Keep your ears open, Fortnite fans: Epic's shooter is about to sing a new tune. When Season Three of Battle Royale kicks off tomorrow (February 22), a new orchestrated score will debut with it.

According to an interview published earlier today on Glixel, Epic's current Fortnite score is a placeholder; the studio always intended to compose a richer soundtrack. The new soundtrack is composed by Marco Beltrami (whose music credits include Logan and The Hurt Locker) and Pinar Toprak (who worked on the music for Krypton and Justice League).

"I will play you the song of my people." [Popping of gunfire]

Beltrami tells Glixel seeing the game in action proved crucial to his compositions. "I think the fact that you're not just defending yourself [in Fortnite], but also trying to save other people ... all of these things are really important elements musically, because music is the emotional undercurrent of the story," he says. "And the player has to feel that."

The new score will be threaded throughout Fortnite's single-player "Save the World" campaign. You'll also hear it while browsing Battle Royale's menu.
