Fortnite Teases Snakes and Pirates, or Worse, Snake Pirates, for Season Eight

Fortnite Teases Snakes and Pirates, or Worse, Snake Pirates, for Season Eight

Snakes? Why did it have to be snakes?

Fortnite's upcoming season is nearly upon us and it's going to involve snakes and pirates, probably. While we won't know for sure until the next season launches in three days, Fortnite released a new teaser hinting some at the direction the next season could go.

Fortnite's official Twitter account tweeted a new image ahead of the Season 8 launch on Thrusday. The picture is of a fire-red cobra and talk of something coming to the Battle Island on the waves, possibly from a cave. Many have taken this to mean that it could be pirates, or worse, pirate snakes.

Fortnite Season Seven lasted two weeks longer than usual because of the holidays, so players are likely eager to see what's next in Fortnite. Fortnite Season Eight will go live on Thursday, February 28.

Epic Games has some lost ground to cover after the arrival of Respawn's Apex Legends took a lot of the battle royale clout in February. Fortnite's revenue is reportedly down by 50 percent since the holidays according Superdata, but that could be a result of various factors, including increased competition during the holiday season with other major video game releases.

Either way, we'll see what Epic has up its sleeves for Fortnite's eight season in a few days, and we'll have updates on what changes are coming in the new update. Check out our Fortnite guides for our latest coverage.
