Fortnite Update Adds New Submachine Gun Weapon

Ideal for intense close-range battles.

Epic has detailed a brand new Fortnite update which adds a new weapon to the game. The weapon in question is the Submachine Gun, which is available to try out now.

The Submachine Gun can be picked up in common, uncommon and rare variants and has a base damage of 19-21. It uses light ammo, and has a 30 round capacity. If you’re wondering where to find the new SMG in Fortnite, it can be spotted in floor loot and chests.

As well as adding in a new weapon for Fortnite Battle Royale, the new update brings one to Fortnite Save the World as well. The Typewriter Assault Rifle will be added to the weekly store on Wednesday, July 18 at 8 PM EST. You’ll be able to pick it up right up until Wednesday, July 25 at 8 PM EST.

The Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle has been given a slight boost in Battle Royale, and has had its damage increased from 63/66 to 75/78. Finally, the new update has added the Tactical SMG to the Vault.

Epic is currently running a 50% off promotion for Fortnite Save the World, so if you were looking to jump into the game that started it all, now is a great time to do so. You can pick up Fortnite Save the World for half price until July 30.

Epic recently launched Fortnite Season 5, which added in new areas, skins and a brand new Battle Pass. The game also received its first fully-fledged vehicle in the form of the Golf Cart. To read more info on Fortnite Season 5, be sure to visit our Fortnite Season 5 Guides Hub.
