The latest update patch for Fortnite (v3.4) adds a whole lot of tweaks and content for both Battle Royale and Save the World. One significant change for Battle Royale adjusts shotguns' rarity colors to better reflect their effectiveness. Tactical shotguns, once Uncommon/Rare/Epic, are now Common/Uncommon/Rare. Pump shotguns, once Common/Uncommon, are now Uncommon/Rare. Keep your eyes peeled for the rare blue pump shotgun.
Though the shotguns have been re-classified, their damage output and drop chances haven't changed. You may continue to fire upon your foes without fear.
Patch 3.4 is quite hefty. Outside of the aforementioned weapon tweaks, sprinting in Save the World n longer takes energy, and players are pretty happy about that. You'll also find a Guided Missile (Battle Royale), a Hunting Rifle and Crossbow (Battle Royale) and a "Three Husketeers" questline for Save the World that (explosively) wraps up the game's Spring It On! event.
As you might expect, the patch also brings a lot of tweaks and bug fixes with it. You can find v3.4's patch notes over at Epic's site. Fortnite's not slowing down any time soon, so now's a good opportunity to jump into the game yourself and get all hip with current trends.
