Fortnite V8.20 Update Introduces the Boom Bow

Also, Sniper Shootout returns.

There's a brand new Fortnite Content Update out right now, but don't expect it to add a great deal. Update v8.20, which doesn't require a download on any platforms, introduces the Boom Bow, the first archery-themed weapon for the game.

You can see the brand new ranged weapon below. Weirdly enough, the Boom Bow uses shotgun ammo, which causes arrows fired to explode on impact for 15 base damage, and 100 explosion damage. The longer you charge up the shot, the more damage it'll do, to both players and structures.

Elsewhere in the Content Update, the Sniper Shootout mode has returned. This LTM features only sniper rifles, with floor loot reduced by 50%, and reviving abilities for teammates disabled. In other words, be careful when you poke your head out of cover for a look.

And that's it! A short content update this week from Epic, but as ever, we can expect new Weekly Challenges on Thursday, April 4. Check back on USG right around 6:30 a.m. PT/9:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, when we'll have coverage of all the new challenges.

He's written for The Guardian, Paste Magazine, and Kotaku, and he likes waking up when the sun rises and roaming the nearby woods with the bears and the wolves.
