Fortnite v8.40 Patch Notes Now Available, Reintroduces the Stormwing Plane in a New LTM

An Egg Launcher arrives just in time for Easter.

Ahead of new challenges going live for Battle Royale players tomorrow, there's now a brand new patch for all Fortnite players to download. Patch v8.40 is now available to download on all platforms, and reintroduces the X-4 Stormwing plane! Sort of.

The headline addition for patch 8.40 has to be the new Air Royale LTM. In this duos-only mode, you automatically spawn in a plane, with each plane having three lives in total, and the last plane flying wins. If you touch the ground, your plane will explode, so stay airborne.

There's also another LTM available: Food Fight - Deep Fried. Two teams start on either side of the map with a huge barrier running through the middle. You need to build a fort around your food mascot to defend them, because when the barrier lowers, it's all out war to kill the opposing team's food mascot.

Next up, there's the new Infantry Rifle. Although this weapon already exists in Fortnite Battle Royale, there are now Epic and Legendary versions of the powerful weapon, which deal 42 and 44 damage respectively. An Egg Launcher weapon has also been added, which is basically the existing grenade launcher, but with a visual twist for Easter.

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. You can now pet not only the dog, but also other pets like dragons and lizards in Fortnite Battle Royale. Go wild kids, your patience has finally been rewarded.
