Fortnite's Teasing an Avengers: Endgame Crossover With Captain America

Avenge the fallen in Fortnite's upcoming crossover event.

One of Fortnite's earliest coups was securing a promotional crossover with Thanos in time for Avengers: Infinity War. Now, Epic Games' battle royale looks to be lining up something similar for Fortnite in time for Avengers: Endgame with a new Fortnite x Avengers event.

Avengers: Endgame is less than five days away, and Epic's official Twitter account tweeted that it will be hosting another crossover event in time for the film's release on April 26. The teaser image shows a Fortnite character holding Captain America's trademark shield, so this crossover event could be related to Avengers outfits.

The last Fortnite Avengers event, then for Infinity War, allowed players in a game to collect pieces of the Infinity Stone to literally become Thanos. But the new teaser suggests that players can either dress up, or maybe play as the Marvel heroes this time.

References to Thanos have already been datamined from Fortnite, so we know the current big bad of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming back to Fortnite in some form or another. But the references to Captain America's shield suggests that this time the Marvel heroes could be involved with Fortnite in some capacity.

Avengers: Endgame is the finale to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Infinity War saga and picks up immediately after the cliffhanger from last year's Avengers: Infinity War. Since the movie revolves around the heroes banding together to stop Thanos, it could be thematically appropriate if Fortnite players take the role of the heroes this time around.
