Fortnite Adds Cars and Trucks Tomorrow in the Joy Ride Update

There should be a few different vehicles headed to the island.

We've known for a fair while that Fortnite Battle Royale would be adding in vehicles in a future update. Now we know exactly when said update will be introducing cars and trucks to the game: tomorrow.

The announcement came last night through the Fortnite Twitter account, with a brief look at one of the new vehicles that we'll be able to drive. The Whiplash looks like a pretty slick car, and one we've definitely seen before in teaser footage of the vehicles update.

Elsewhere in the “Fortnite Joy Ride” update, it looks like cars won't be the only vehicles taking to the battle royale island. The Mudflap truck seen just below, also unveiled through the Fortnite Twitter account, should be arriving alongside the Whiplash. It's easy to imagine the Mudflap truck being a much heavier and tougher, albeit slower, vehicle than the Whiplash.

The cars update for Fortnite is actually due to launch a little earlier than expected. Recently in late July, an update made through Fortnite's in-game car insurance company stated that the vehicles update would be "a few weeks away." Still, it's a nice new addition to the battle royale game (and it's going head-to-head with Call of Duty: Warzone's big Season 5 update).

When Fortnite's Joy Ride update goes live, don't expect to see any cop cars. Epic Games quietly removed cop cars from Fortnite in late June, well before the vehicles update was even announced.
