Fortnite's Cars Update is Still a Few Weeks Away

But we can expect it by the end of Season 3.

Previously, we knew that Epic Games was planning on adding usable vehicles to Fortnite Battle Royale over the course of the current season. However it appears the addition of vehicles is still at least a few weeks away.

The announcement came through the official Fortnite Twitter account, which was tweeting in the role of the No Sweat company, an in-game Fortnite insurance firm. The "company" writes that there's still a "few weeks until we're road ready."

If you've been following Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 3 so far, you'll know that the waterlogged map has been steadily drying out over the course of the season so far. Brand new locations have surfaced as the water has receded, including two gas stations where you can actually refuel the cars, once they're available to drive.

Earlier this month, regular Fortnite dataminer HYPEX uncovered evidence of a new limited time mode featuring cars, per Eurogamer. This mode, called Nitrogen, has players from teams competing to earn stars by delivering characters in a taxi service.

Right now, there isn't an end date for the current Season 3 in Fortnite Chapter 2. However given that we're only just past the halfway point in the typical seasonal runtime of 10 weeks, there's plenty of time yet for cars and other vehicles to be added to the game.

Ahead of cars being made usable in Fortnite, Epic quietly removed all cop cars from the game last month in June. There was never an announcement about the removal of cop cars from Fortnite, but one source revealed in a report that the act was deliberate.
