Forza Horizon 3 Gets Into the Winter Spirit With Blizzard Mountain on Dec 13

Playground Games adds a whole new climate to Forza Horizon 3.

Playground Games is constantly moving forward with Forza Horizon. Forza Horizon 2 built on everything in the first game and its expansion, Storm Island, added off-road racing and a weather system to the series. Forza Horizon 3 incorporated all of that into its base game, but Playground isn't done evolving everything Horizon.

The first expansion for Forza Horizon 3 is Blizzard Mountain, adding snow, ice, and alpine driving to the series for the first time. Blizzard Mountain is coming on December 13, offering players a winter wonderland even if they won't get snow at home. It's winter rally racing at its finest, with a new region to explore and 50 new events, including the all-new Hill Climb, Descent and Blizzard race types.

"Get the snow tires ready and pack your best parka, because Blizzard Mountain beckons! Blizzard Mountain is a mountain paradise for car fans, full of adventurous terrain and challenging driving conditions. New areas like the extreme sports snow park and a massive frozen lake make this the ultimate snowy playground for players' favorite vehicles," said Playground in its announcement post.

The expansion comes with seven new cars and a Barn Find vehicle. In addition, you can add snow tires as an upgrade for any of the existing Forza Horizon 3 cars. The full list of new cars includes:

  • 2016 Ford GYMKHANA 9 Focus RS RX
  • 1965 Ford F-100 Flareside Abatti Racing Trophy Truck
  • 1975 Lancia Stratos HF Group 4
  • 1985 Lancia Delta S4 Group B
  • 2016 Nissan Titan Warrior Concept
  • 2016 RJ Anderson #37 Polaris RZR-Rockstar Energy Pro 2 Truck
  • 2016 Subaru #199 WRX STI VT15r Rally Car

Blizzard Mountain comes as a separate purchase for Forza Horizon 3 or as part of the Forza Horizon 3 Expansion Pass. The expansion pass is $34.99 and will be including two expansions in total. The Expansion Pass is already included in the Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate Edition, which is currently $20 off for Black Friday.

Third-person action-adventure games are his personal poison: Uncharted, Infamous, and Assassin's Creed just to name a few. If you see him around a convention, he's not hard to spot: Black guy, glasses, and a tie.
