Free DLC, Free Trial Period Coming to Titanfall 2

Veteran mech-pilots get new content, and newcomers get a chance to see what the fuss is about.

Time to return to the cockpit. New DLC is coming to Titanfall 2 on March 30, and part of it involves a throwback to the first game.

In a press release distributed earlier today, EA outlined what's coming. First, there's a new free map—Colony, a "fan-favorite map from the first Titanfall that is filled with narrow streets, interiors, and rooftops." Players will also get to try out "An all-new Pilot execution, Curb Check pilot," as well as the new R-101 carbine at no cost.

There's also some new DLC content that costs a bit of dosh, including new Prime skins for Northstar and Legion, new Camos, new Callsigns, and more.

If you've not had a chance to try out Titanfall 2—it's good, by the way—March 30 marks the start of a free trial period for the game. Players can sample a bit of the single-player campaign, as well as all the multiplayer maps and modes. The free trial expires on April 3, after which the multiplayer component will no longer be available, but the single-player trial will still be available for a yet-undisclosed amount of time.

Titanfall 2 is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
