The good people of Games Done Quick are famous for zipping through games at insane speed, and over the weekend they moved lighting-fast to organize an event for a good cause: Harvey Relief Done Quick.
As its name suggests, Harvey Relief Done Quick was assembled to bring in funds for people affected by Hurricane Harvey in Houston and surrounding areas. Since there wasn't time enough to rent out a hotel as per Games Done Quick tradition, participants streamed their efforts online.
The impromptu event was a big success: Over $225,000 USD was raised for the Houston Food Bank. Not bad for a show that was put together in a few days.
You can watch a rerun of the stream (about 15 hours) over on GDQ's Twitch channel. And, as our thoughtful compatriots at Eurogamer point out, you can still donate directly to the Houston Food Bank, which needs as much help as it can get. Alternatively, you can buy merch from Fangamer or Yetee, both of which are donating proceeds to hurricane relief.
Yetee's stock appears to be mostly sold-out at the time of this writing, though. Bad news if you wanted a shirt commemorating the event, but great news for the Houston Food Bank.
