Gears Pop Brings Funkos and Tactics to PC and Mobile Later This Week

Gears Pop Brings Funkos and Tactics to PC and Mobile Later This Week

If POP! and Gears are your thing, we have good news.

At E3 2018, Microsoft surprised folks with the announcement of Gears POP!, a title bringing together Gears of War and the popular Funko POP! Brand. Today during the Inside Xbox presentation at Gamescom 2019, Microsoft revealed that Gears POP! Is coming to Android, iOS, and Windows 10 on August 22, 2019.

The previous trailers focused on the shenanigans of shrunken versions of Marcus, J.D., Gears 5 protagonist Kait Diaz, and several types of Locust. The gameplay involves PVP action, where players drop their rosters of units on the battlefield, trying to destroy your opponent's outpost. The game looks to have free-to-play hooks, with players trying to unlock and collect units at random.

It's definitely a unique departure for one of Microsoft's premier franchises. There's still way more Gears headed our way, as Gears 5 is coming to Xbox One on September 10, 2019 for those with Xbox Game Pass or a pre-order. If you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you'll gain access to the game four days early on September 6, 2019. There's also Gears Tactics, which was announced alongside Gears POP! and is still in development.

Also, anyone who play Gears 5 ahead of September 16 will get access to the Terminator: Dark Fate Character Pack, which nets you Sarah Connor and the T-800 from the film.
