Ghost of Tsushima: All Fox Den Locations
We show you where to find all the fox dens in Ghost of Tsushima, and what you need to do when you come across one.
Explore in Ghost of Tsushima for long enough and you'll encounter a fox den, little hills and groves with a spry fox leaping around them somewhere. We've shown all the fox den locations in our guide below, as well as how you can use them to increase your charm inventory.

All Fox Den Locations in Ghost of Tsushima
Below we've constructed a map with all the fox den locations, framed as it is in the game for ease of comprehension (Izuhara at the bottom, Kamiagata at the top). This means that if you're only in the early sections of the game, you should start with the last images and work your way up as you progress. Of course, if you're not sure about how to open up new sections of the map, we've explained that here. We should also clarify that in order to present the whole map, certain fox dens may be repeated on certain images.

Fox Dens Explained
If you find a fox den in Ghost of Tsushima you'll want to focus on the fox itself, as the area doesn't actually provide any bonus. Instead, clear out any enemies who happen to be there - whether human or animal - and walk towards the fox itself. They tend to leap around a bit, but you shouldn't have much trouble spotting it, as they'll be bright orange against a green or white landscape.
What to Do With Foxes
Once you find the fox, don't attack it. Instead, follow it: as you get close it'll run away, but it's not going somewhere random, instead leading you to a specific destination. Pursue it, even if it takes you up a mountain or halfway across the province. There's a prize waiting at the end.

Inari Shrines
Eventually the fox will lead you to an Inari Shrine, a stone statue of a fox on a pedestal. Approach the shrine and press R2 pray at it. Praying at a shrine will go some way to filling a progress bar that, when maxed out, allows you to equip another charm in your inventory.
You don't necessarily need to find the fox den to get the shrine, as they'll be across Tsushima either way. However, there's no real way to find them other by dumb luck, as they're not marked on the map, even though the fox dens are.
Don't be foxed for what to do next, because there's plenty of Ghost of Tsushima content here at USG. We've got Mike's review of the game here, or check out what other cute feature the foxes have over here!
