After a bunch of leaks, Ubisoft has finally revealed Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Here’s everything we know so far.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the next entry in the long-running Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series. It continues where Wildlands left off, adding in an extra layer of survival mechanics and a sprinkling of drone warfare. Now that the cat’s out of the bag, we’ll be rounding up everything we know so far about Ghost Recon Breakpoint, from release date to gameplay details. In this Ghost Recon Breakpoint guide, you’ll find up to date info on the game’s setting, raids, and anything that Ubisoft reveals from now until launch.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Release Date

Ubisoft recently revealed Ghost Recon Breakpoint, a brand new game in the series. It centers around Ghost team, as it finds itself outgunned and outmatched on a tropical island called Auroa. You won’t have to wait too long to play it too, as Ghost Recon Breakpoint will launch October 4 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Beta Schedule

So far, we know that Ghost Recon Breakpoint will indeed have a Beta. It will launch on Spetember 5 2019. Players can get guaranteed access to the Beta by pre-ordering Ghost Recon Breakpoint, or can sign up here for a chance to play.

Ghost Reacon Breakpoints AI Teammates

Given the co-op nature of Ghost Recon Breakpoint, there were questions as to how solo play would work. During Ubisoft's E3 2019 Press Conference, it was revealed that AI Teammates would be returning to the series.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Stadia

Thanks to Google's Stadia Connect livestream on June 6, we know that Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be coming to Google Stadia. Given that the Stadia won't see its full launch until 2020, we won't be seeing it until then. Ghost Recon Breakpoint is one of the games being pushed as being able to use the Google Stream Share function.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Trailer

The Ghost Recon Breakpoint reveal event aired on May 9, and offered a deep dive on the new shooter. It included several trailers, some showing gameplay and others showing plot points. You can check out the whole show in the video above.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint PvP

Unlike Wildlands, Ghost Recon Breakpoint will have PvP at launch. PvP progression will be shared across the game’s PvE elements as well, and while we know that it will function like last year’s Ghost War, we don’t have many specifics. For now, we know that elements shown in the trailer will transfer over to PvP, like camo and stamina.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Raids

Yes you read that correctly, Ghost Recon Breakpoint will have Raids. They will function much in the same way as sister franchise The Division, but details right now are scarce. They are reserved as end-game activities, and are described as follows: ‘It's a mini-open world, with several bosses in it. The island features a volcano. We had a dedicated team that only works on it, since the beginning of the project.’

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Jon Bernthal

Jon Bernthal reprises the character he played in Ghost Recon Wildlands DLC for Breakpoint. He is actually an antagonist in this game, leading a group of rogue ghosts called The Wolves. The Wolves take over the Skell drones and will use them against you. Bernthal provides full motion capture performance and voice acting to the character.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Setting

breakpoint is set in a fictitious version of the near-future. In this alternate reality, many of the world’s military powers have become largely automated through the use of drone technology. These drones are created by the Skell Tech company, and after an attack by rebel group The Wolves, fall into enemy hands. Ghost Recon Breakpoint is set on the island of Auroa, a true tropical island, storms and all. It is on this island that Nomad and the team of Ghosts are sent to take back the drone tech, though things do not go to plan. After their helicopter is downed, the Ghosts must use everything at their disposal to survive, employing guerilla tactics and jungle warfare.

That’s everything we know about Ghost Recon Breakpoint so far. For more on the game, be sure to head over to our Ghost Recon Breakpoint Preview, in which Mike details the short demo he played recently.
