Ghost Recon Wildlands Easter Egg Teases May 9 Reveal for New Tom Clancy Game

Tom Clancy is back at it again, it seems.

Ubisoft may have dropped a hint for an upcoming Ghost Recon game in an update to Ghost Recon Wildlands. And if the speculation is correct, we could be seeing a new game reveal very soon.

Earlier this week Ubisoft dropped a new update in Ghost Recon Wildlands titled Operation Oracle. It even includes a guest appearance from actor Jon Bernthal (of Netflix's The Punisher). YouTuber coreross discovered an easter egg in Operation Oracle that invites players to a conference for the fictional company Skell Technology.

The invitation to "Skell Con" lists May 9, 2019 as the date with a start time of 11:30 a.m. PT/2:30 p.m. ET. That's less than a week away in our world.

If the in-game date for Skell Con is truly supposed to coincide with our real-world date, then we can expect to see something happen on May 9. What that something is though is still up in the air. As the easter egg was discovered in a Ghost Recon game, it could be news regarding the future of the series. Though Ubisoft has been teasing several other properties, including Splinter Cell and Watch Dogs.

After all, Ghost Recon Wildlands did feature an ambitious Splinter Cell crossover event last year. And considering Ubisoft has been dropping hints about Skell Technology since last year as well, this could just be Ubisoft rolling out a very long game reveal campaign.

Luckily, we won't have to wait long. May 9 is next Thursday, and we'll be keeping an eye out to see where this easter egg takes us.
