The new PvP mode for Ghost Recon Wildlands is coming out on October 10, finally bringing the competitive Ghost War mode to all players who own the base game.
Delivered via a free update, Ghost War is Wildland's 4v4 competitive multiplayer mode. The first update will launch with a team deathmatch mode and a selection of maps and a roster of different classes like Assault, Marksman, and Support characters. Players will battle it out with the enemy team and will need to take up their specific roles to complete different objectives in Wildland's large, open maps.

Like a lot of other Ubisoft games recently, Ghost Recon Wildlands Ghost Wars will have scheduled, post-launch updates. Presumably Ubisoft will follow the path set out by For Honor which includes different competitive seasons and balance updates.
The PvP mode for Wildlands was announced earlier this year as part of the post-launch plans for the game. Since Wildlands is one of the best-selling games of the year it will be interesting to see whether the competitive mode will give the game new life with its playerbase.
We reviewed Ghost Recond Wildlands fairly positively, praising the core gameplay, even though the inconsistency in the mission quality left a lot to be desired. A competitive multiplayer mode just adds to the overall package Ghost Recon Wildlands has to offer however.
