God of War PS4 is Getting a Photo Mode, but Not Until Cory Barlog Can Make it Cool

Kratos plus Blingee is a match made in Valhalla, Barlog.

God of War is one pretty game, no doubt about it. As you might expect from such a good-looking title, it's going to have a photo mode. Here's the twist: It probably won't be available at launch. In fact, it won't be available until Creative Director Cory Barlog thinks of something "cool."

"[Photo mode is] something that we’re definitely looking at," Barlog told The Daily Star in an interview published today. "The photo mode has got to be something really cool. Like people have sort of raised the bar on photo mode. I think I’d like to follow suit in that respect and put something out. Something where I think 'that’s great'. Like something that can stand toe-to-toe with some of the better photo modes out there."

Take a picture, it'll last longer. Oh, wait.

Sounds like Barlog might be a little inspired by games like Super Mario Odysseygames with robust photo modes that make it impossible to resist sharing snaps. Barlog, if you're reading this, I'm putting in my vote for a photo mode that lets you apply sparkly anime eyes and bling to Kratos. I guarantee it'll be a hit.

God of War is coming to the PlayStation 4 on April 20 and you can get our thoughts in our God of War review. Kat's already gone hands-on with Kratos' new adventure, and she has some thoughts.
