God of War Release Date Confirmed as April 20

You'll be able to play the new God of War on PS4 in three months! Plus there's a brand new trailer to look at.

God of War for PS4 will release on April 20, 2018, Sony has announced. The release date is slightly later than the rumored March release, but it's still only three months away.

The God of War release date was revealed in a PlayStation Blog post by Sony Santa Monica's Cory Barlog.

"This has been a long journey just to reach this point so it is a little bittersweet to think that we are only a few months away from that journey finally coming to an end," writes Barlog. "While I am sad, I am also excited because it means everyone will get their hands on this crazy adventure we have been crafting for nearly five years!"

To celebrate the news of the God of War release date, a brand new trailer has been released, and it is suitably epic.

Sony has also detailed numerous pre-order bonuses, which include three legendary shield skins. Selected retailers will also be offering a Luck of Ages XP Boost, which gives you +10 Luck and and one Enchantment slot. According to the blog post, Luck influences the following:

  • Increase XP gain
  • Increase Hacksilver gain
  • Increase the ability to trigger Perks
