God of War Transforms an Entire NBA Court

Sony tries a unique marketing tactic at a basketball game.

Sony Interactive Entertainment's next major exclusive is the upcoming God of War sequel. The game is sort of a soft reboot for the franchise, leaving behind the relentless anger and drive for revenge of the older Kratos for an adventure with a father and son.

To show off the upcoming title from Sony Santa Monica, Sony tried something a bit unique. During Saturday's game between the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs, Sony actually projected unique look at God of War's gameplay onto the court of the Oracle Arena.

The projection is a bit odd, as it's shown from above, a perspective you can't actually take in God of War itself. Instead, the game's camera is a fairly close over-the-shoulder third-person camera. Regardless, Sony is likely hoping that the trailer will go viral, or at least pique the interest of the nearly 20,000 attendees the Warriors have on average.

God of War is coming to PlayStation 4 on April 20, 2018. You can read more about the game by heading to our God of War review.
