We've known Godfall would be a next-gen release for the PlayStation 5 for quite some time now. Today, we finally have a release date for Godfall: November 12.
This puts Godfall as another day one launch title for the PS5. Gearbox's new game joins a lineup comprised of Demon's Souls, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Astro's Playroom, and Destruction All Stars for the PS5 on launch day.
As Gearbox announced previously, Godfall is also coming to the PC. It turns out this November 12 launch date for Godfall is for both the PS5 and PC versions of the game, so it's a simultaneous release across both platforms.
Godfall was first announced last year, and was one of the very first games to be confirmed for a next-gen release. It's a relatively fast-paced, online-based looter-slasher game, but developer Counterplay doesn't think of it as a "service" game, and has also stated that loot boxes and microtransactions won't be implemented into the game.
Godfall is the sixth game to join the PlayStation 5's launch day lineup. There's certainly some hits among the day one lineup, like PS5 exclusive Demon's Souls, but there's also some games that will be launching on the PS4 as well, such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Sony was pretty adamant about believing in console generations, but an increasing amount of PS5 games, including Horizon Forbidden West and Sackboy: A Big Adventure, will be cross-gen releases.
