GOG's Weekly Sale Features Old School X-Com, Civilization, and More

Up to 75% off.

Month after month, GOG.com has managed to keep its promise to deliver a brand new set of price cuts each and every week this year. The one thing that might be better than DRM-free games is DRM-free games that cost you less than the price of a Starbucks latte.

This week, the focus is on some of 2K's classic franchises and the more legendary hits of the 90s. That means a handful of the earlier Sid Meier titles including Civilization III, Sid Meier's Railroads and—my personal favorite—Sid Meier's Pirates!

Of course, I'd be remiss not to mention the complete set of original X-Com titles on offer here, each for dirt cheap. If you're an X-Com fan and have never tried Terror From The Deep, let me just tell you - it's a must own.

Also featured here are both of Irrational Games' Freedom Force titles, a top-down superhero strategy series from Ken Levine, creator of Bioshock. Those games are a little like Watchmen meets Saturday morning cartoons.

Some highlights:

  • Sid Meier's Pirates! for $2.49 / £1.99 / €2.19
  • Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete for $1.49 / £1.19 / €1.29
  • Sid Meier's Railroads! for $2.49 / £1.99 / €2.19
  • Freedom Force for $1.49 / £1.19 / €1.29
  • Freedom Force vs. the 3rd Reich for $1.49 / £1.19 / €1.29
  • Army Men RTS for $2.99 / £2.39 / €2.69
  • X-Com: Terror from the Deep for $1.49 / £1.19 / €1.29
  • X-Com: Apocalypse for $1.49 / £1.19 / €1.29
