Good News: Nier's Soundtracks Have Finally Popped Up on Spotify

We're gonna shout it loud, even if our words seem meaningless.

The last few years have been stellar for video game soundtracks, which has been fantastic for my work playlists. Today, one of the best options has become available, as the soundtracks for both the original Nier and Nier: Automata have been uploaded to Spotify.

Word started getting around on social media and gaming forums like ResetEra yesterday evening that the music had found its way to Spotify's music streaming service. This includes the Nier Gestalt and Nier Replicant original soundtracks, several rearrangements and piano collections, and the Nier Automata original soundtrack and its rearrangements.

They've proven a bit tricky to find simply by searching, so here are some links for the ones we've found so far:

This has certainly set the tune for my writing music, for today, and the foreseeable future. Nier: Automata was a standout title of the generation, one of my personal all-time favorites, and the soundtrack played no small part in that.

It's also great to have all the rearrangements and piano collections online, to hear different interpretations of these tracks. Games love to toy and fiddle with their musical motifs, and Nier is no exception. Now, at least, I can stop pulling up YouTube playlist search results for my work music fix and just let my Spotify run.

If you're a Nier fan who's feeling nostalgic re-listening to all these tracks, be sure to check out our postmortem of Nier: Automata with director Yoko Taro and designer Takahisa Taura.
