Gran Turismo Sport Demos Stunningly Realistic Rain Weather Effects for the First Time
Gameplay footage genuinely looks live-action.
Polyphony Digital previewed the next update to Gran Turismo Sport at the Formula 1 World Tour championship. The new update will add weather effects like rain for the first time in GT Sport.
The full unveiling for the rain update will not be until tomorrow during a livestream. But people attending the actual event were able to try out the update early, and off-camera footage of the rain effects were promptly posted online.

Since its launch in 2017, Polyphony Digital has been regularly updating Gran Turismo Sport with new cars, tracks, and other improvements. The next update will see weather effects like rain added to the series.
There's no release date for the update, but in 2019 updates have been dropping fairly regularly on a monthly basis. The last update was released at the end of May, so it's not impossible for the rain update to be dropped sometime next week.
You can watch the full reveal livestream in tomorrow's Trackside Talk2 livestream from Gran Turismo and Toyota.
In our review, we rated Gran Turismo Sport a 4 out of 5, calling it "absolutely stunning." At launch we dinged Gran Turismo Sport for lacking in content, but over the years the series has evolved into one of the best entries in the series.
