Gunner is the Newest Specialization Coming to The Division 2

It's time to bring out the big guns.

Agents tackling The Division 2's endgame content will get a new set of tools to mess around with soon. The Gunner is the newest specialization for level 30 players, coming as part of the year one season pass to the public test server tomorrow, ahead of the major June update.

The Gunner is all about damage and armor, suppressing enemies with their minigun and gaining armor based on how much Specialization ammo they're carrying. A big gun can be a little unwieldy though, as you won't be able to take cover, roll, or vault while your Minigun is out.

Gunners also pack a Banshee skill, which confuses enemies, as well as a special Riot Foam grenade to trap enemies in place. Area control and suppression seems to be the name of the game with the Gunner. If you have the year one pass, you'll instantly unlock the Gunner as a specialization option. If not, you'll have to complete five stages of Special Field Research, each with their own objectives.

While the Gunner will be live on the public test server tomorrow, it won't be open for all players to class into until later in June, when Title Update 4 arrives. Hopefully, this new class' mix of firepower and tankiness can give some players a leg up in finishing the raid on consoles. In the meantime, stay tuned to our E3 2019 guide so you can follow all the Ubisoft streams happening, in case they announce some more concrete details about the update.
