Bandai Namco announced today that .hack//G.U. Last Recode will come out in North America on November 3 for both the PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.
.hack Last Recode is a remastered collection of all three PS3 .hack//G.U. games including Rebirth, Reminisce, and Redemption. All three games will be updated with 1080p resolution, widescreen picture, 60fps, as well as changes to gameplay for better balancing. The collection will also include a new fourth chapter to the series.
Bandai Namco also released a new trailer that briefly shows examples of new fourth chapter which you can check out below.
We originally reported that the Last Recode collection is one of the cheapest ways to get a copy of the .hack//G.U. games considering the original PS2 versions of the games were sold for over $100 brand new. Although prices have since dropped since the HD collection's announcement.
It's interesting to see .hack reemerge through this collection, especially after we recently covered the release of a new Sword Art Online game. The two anime franchises share a similar premise about heroes surviving in an MMORPG world. Now if only we can get the original .hack PS2 RPGs a re-release, new players wouldn't have to shell out hundreds of dollars to play games in the .hack franchise.
