Surprise! Supergiant's Hades makes its debut on the Nintendo Switch later today. We didn't expect Hades to launch until later in the year, but Supergiant fooled us all with a stealth launch on the Switch, which will arrive on the eShop later today.
The news was delivered in today's Nintendo Direct Mini, which had announcements and reveals from Nintendo's publishing partners. So while there wasn't any news to be found on Breath of the Wild 2, the likes of Hades's stealth launch and the pleasantly surprising Monster Hunter: Rise made for nice announcements.
I'll be honest, I've entirely missed the boat on Hades while it was in early access on PC. For those unfamiliar with Supergiant's latest game, it's been in early access for over a year now, where all the PC players I know have been singing its praises for longer than I can remember. But what I do know about Hades is that it's a rogue-like dungeon-crawling game, where you hack and slash against opponents of the underworld in an attempt to escape.
So I'll absolutely be delving into Hades later today on the Nintendo Switch (the game isn't available right now, but you can expect it to launch in roughly a few hours time). Right now, there isn't any confirmation whether the launch of the Nintendo Switch version also means Hades is coming out of early access on PC, but we'll keep an eye out and update this post accordingly with new information.
