Halo Co-Creator's Studio Teases New Sci-Fi FPS, But Isn't Showing Much Right Now

A full reveal is coming at Gamescom this August.

Something new is on the way from one of the minds behind Halo: Combat Evolved. V1 Interactive released a teaser today for its new game Disintegration, and while we don't know much at the moment, we won't have to wait too long to learn more.

V1 Interactive is a studio founded by former Bungie dev and Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto. According to the teaser's description, Disintegration will be a sci-fi first-person shooter, so it's firmly within Lehto's wheelhouse. The teaser doesn't give us much to go on, though there's a space ship and a big gun, so about what you'd expect from one of the minds behind Halo.

V1 Interactive also posted an early glimpse from last December on its news feed that showed some foliage and ruined buildings that wouldn't be out of place in Destiny. From job postings like this senior engineer listing, we know it'll likely run in Unreal Engine 4. We'll learn more at Gamescom, where V1 Interactive will fully reveal the game on Geoff Keighley's Gamescom Opening Night Live show on August 19.

V1 Interactive falls under Take-Two's Private Division, a publishing label focused on independent studios helmed by veteran devs. Kerbal Space Program is under the same umbrella, as well as Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Worlds and Panache Digital Games' Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.

"We see a growing number of independent studios in our industry creating high quality games based on new IP," said Michael Worosz, SVP at Take-Two at the time. "And our focus is supporting these types of developers and projects, and ultimately bringing incredible experiences to gamers around the world."
