Master Chief is Going On Tour With the Halo: Outpost Discovery Fan Event

Halo on ice.

I'm going to be honest with you, "all ages" isn't necessarily the first thing that comes to mind when I think about the Halo franchise. Don't get me wrong, I definitely wasn't rated M for mature when I played my first Halo game. But, imagine my surprise when today Microsoft announced Halo: Outpost Discovery, an all ages, touring festival for all things Halo.

Xbox is kicking off a new Halo-themed live-event tour called Halo: Outpost Discovery. The weekend long event will tour several major cities this summer and give fans a chance to live out the world of Halo, but only for two days before they have to go back to the real world. This is the second instance of Halo expanding beyond core games after Xbox announced the Halo: Fireteam Raven arcade cabinet for Dave and Busters.

Halo: Outpost Discovery is kind of like a mini Halo festival on tour. Fans can take a photo with a real Warthog armored vehicle, partake in a laser tag arena, experience the world of Halo in VR, and explore a Halo Ring. There will also be game stations set up with the newest Halo games, and even Halo-themed panels with the creators and special guests.

Here's the full list of cities that Halo: Outpost Discovery is coming to.

  • July 5-7 – Orlando
  • July 19-21 – Philadelphia
  • August2-4 – Chicago
  • August 16-18 – Houston
  • August 30-September 1 – Anaheim

Xbox partnered with Herschend Live, an events company behind the Harlem Globetrotters and Dollywood, to bring Halo: Outpost Discovery to life. Ticket information and additional event details can be found on HaloOutpostDiscovery.com. Meanwhile, 343 is working on Halo Infinite, the sixth mainline entry into the Halo video game series.
