A Hat in Time's Developers Have Something to Say on August 20

Put on your best hat and listen up.

Gears for Breakfast, the developers behind the adorable 3D adventure A Hat in Time, have an announcement coming in a few days. Presumably, said announcement will involve hats. Hats that are in time.

Gears for Breakfast made the announcement about the announcement (yes, seriously) on its Twitter account yesterday evening. Look forward to news about the game on August 20 at 7 p.m. CEST / 1 p.m. EDT / 10 a.m. PDT. Tune into Gears for Breakfast's Twitch channel for the good word.

Gears for Breakfast already confirmed DLC is on the way for Hat in Time, including a new chapter, New Game +, and a couch co-op option. The first DLC isn't due until December, but it's possible Gears wants to give us a sneak peek at what's coming.

However, Twitter consensus believes Gears is gearing up (hey!) to announce a Nintendo Switch port of A Hat in Time. Given the success of other recent indie releases on the console / handheld hybrid (e.g. Hollow Knight and Dead Cells), a Switch release for Gears' magical chapeau adventure wouldn't be the worst idea.

A Hat in Time initially came out for PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in the latter half of 2017. It was generally received well and its aggregated PC score currently sits at 79 / 100 on Metacritic.
