The star-crossed lovers of Haven have set a date. Haven will launch Dec. 3 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
The latest game from The Game Bakers, the creators of boss-rush action game Furi, Haven is the story of Yu and Kay. The pair escape from their former lives to carry out a relationship in the unstable danger of unknown space. But as shown in the new story trailer, the past can catch up to you prettty quick.
As The Game Bakers' Emeric Thoa told us last year, the goal is for Yu and Kay's relationship to be mature. This isn't so much a meet-cute, as it is a story about a couple that has to work together. Haven can be played solo, or you can do a co-op run, if you have a special someone who's also into RPGs.
Though Haven is coming launching for most platforms on Dec. 3, the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions have been pushed to Q1 2021. Though that's a bummer for Switch owners, Haven will also have a Smart Delivery-esque upgrade path for PlayStation and Xbox; if you buy the game on PS4 or Xbox One, you'll get a copy within the same family on next-gen consoles, and vice versa.
This has been an indie game I've been looking forward to for a while, both for its novel take on RPG mechanics and because of the studio's work on Furi. Hopefully these two lovers on the run will get a happy ending.
Haven arrives on Dec. 3 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
