The "Pokemon Master Sex" Hashtag Is Causing Twitter to Explode Like a Sexually Frustrated Electrode

If you forgot Pokemon Masters exists, you sure remember it now.

A viral Twitter hashtag can be a great way of promoting your game, and that promotional push can potentially double if you didn't account for the fact the overwhelming majority of humanity is filthy-minded. Pokemon Masters tried to celebrate its massive "EX" update with a "Pokemon Masters EX" hashtag, but few people bother to capitalize hashtags properly. Hence the sudden popularity of the "pokemonmastersex" hashtag—or, "Pokemon Master Sex."

As soon as the hashtag hit Twitter, Pokemon fans started leaping and braying like a herd of Ponyta in rut. If you're at work or at a daycare, browse pokemonmastersex at your own peril. It's mostly filled with giggles and harmless innuendos but make no mistake: People are taking this opportunity to show off their crossover fanart of Misty and Charizard. You don't need to see that. Nobody needs to see that.

I imagine The Pokemon Company is of two minds about this drunken hashtag orgy. "pokemonmastersex" will continue to garner attention for at least a while longer, and it might be the best promotion Pokemon Masters EX will receive. Pokemon Masters had a strong start when it launched last summer, but it quickly fell out of favor because of a lack of content. Pokemon Masters EX is part of a roadmap to revitalize the game.

So, is Pokemon Master Sex actually fun to play? I haven't played Pokemon Masters in months, so I don't know. I do know that I forgot the game pledged to improve itself, but this magic hashtag brought it back into my immediate field of vision.

The system works, in its own horny way.
