Hearthstone's New Expansion The Witchwood is Out Now

Check out our guides for the latest deck builds.

Hearthstone's latest expansion, The Witchwood, is out today. It's the first expansion as part of the Year of the Raven and promises to introduce some interesting new game mechanics to Hearthstone.

The Witchwood was announced earlier this year with a fun little trailer. The expansion introduces a couple new keywords like "Rush" and "Echo" which allows players to immediately attack other minions or use the card as many times as allowed by mana constraints respectively.

I tried logging into Hearthstone myself but was met with some long queues so prepare to wait maybe 10 minutes or less before getting into a game, at least for the first couple hours of the expansion.

Other changes coming to Hearthstone with the expansion is the Wilds format which will let players use any cards from any expansion. That's opposed to the Standard format where cards are limited to only the most recent expansions.

Hearthstone is also introducing a new single-player campaign with Monster Hunt, a Dungeon Run style single-player mode with four unique heroes. Monster Hunt won't be available for another couple of weeks, but if you enjoyed the insanely good Dungeon Run mode you should be just as pleased with Monster Hunt.
