Here's a New Star-Studded Trailer for Star Citizen's Squadron 42

Gillian Anderson, Mark Hamill, and Henry Cavill all make appearances.

Cloud Imperium Games revealed a brand-new cinematic trailer for Star Citizen's Squadron 42 at this year's CitizenCon. The trailer includes actors like Gillian Anderson, Mark Hamill, and Henry Cavill to name a few.

The three-minute trailer doesn't reveal a lot of gameplay but shows off the celebrity cast Cloud Imperium was able to snag after its massively successful crowdfunding campaign. Stars in the trailer include Gillian Anderson, Mark Hamill, Ben Mendhelson, Gary Oldman, Henry Cavill, John Rhys-Davis, and Mark Strong.

Squadron 42 is a first-person shooter based in the larger Star Citizen universe and is a separate game from Star Citizen. Cloud Imperium announced that a complete release roadmap for Squadron 42 will be released in December but until then there is no firm release date for either Squadron 42 or Star Citizen.

Star Citizen first made news when it collected nearly $200 million in crowdfunding back in 2012. Since then Cloud Imperium expanded the scope of its massive space-sim, promising players multiple universes to explore with their ships. Along the way Star Citizen picked up famous actors for roles including The X-Files' Gillian Anderson, Star Wars' Ben Mendhelson, and DC's Henry Cavill who will be starring as Geralt in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of The Witcher.
