The Chicken Hammer Finally Comes to Monster Hunter: World This Month

Monster Hunter: World's Appreciation Fest returns later this month, to mark the second anniversary since the game first released on consoles. There's quite the treat hidden within one of the new upcoming Event quests: The chicken hammer.

Over on the Monster Hunter website, the arrival of the hammer shaped like a chicken drumstick was confirmed for the Appreciation Fest, taking place on January 23. This weird weapon has been teased by Capcom before, but you'll finally be able to get hold of it by undertaking the 'Beef is Never a Mi-Steak' Event quest.

Elsewhere, other Event quests in the Appreciation Fest were revealed by Capcom. First up is the 'Wolf Out of Hell' Event quest. This focuses on the brutal Stygian Zinogre, and is an excellent opportunity to farm some Zinogre-related materials if you're up to the challenge.

Next there's the '50 Shades of White' mission. It looks like we'll be facing off against the a Barioth in the smaller Arena for this mission, which actually grants you a brand new type of every weapon category if you can accomplish it.

Slightly more ambiguous is the 'A Shocking Climax' mission. The official Monster Hunter website details "special upgrade materials" as a reward for completing this quest, used for upgrading your armor, although there's no further details on what these special materials are.

You'll be able to partake in the Appreciation Fest when it kicks off for all Monster Hunter: World players on January 23. Note that all the new Event quests that we've mentioned above are strictly tied to the Iceborne Master Rank system, so you'll need to own the expansion to take on any of these missions.
