Here's When You Can Play the Free Life Is Strange 2 Prequel Next Week

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit await.

Life is Strange: The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, a free prequel to the upcoming Life is Strange 2 is coming out next Monday for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Oh, and it will be available for free.

Specifically, Captain Spirit will be available on June 25 at 9 AM PDT/12 PM EDT. The prequel was announced at E3 2018 and will serve as a little teaser for the upcoming season of Life is Strange. However, don't expect Captain Spirit to serve as a direct prequel as Dontnod is calling the game more of a teaser for the season.

The trailer for Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit shows a new protagonist who appears to be able to travel into his imaginative world of superheroes and cartoons. However, the trailer hints at some real-world troubles just in the periphery, just like in the original Life is Strange. But there's no sign of either Max or Chloe, the heroes from the first season.

Captain Spirit is the third Life is Strange game after the first season and Life is Strange: Before the Storm, a prequel starring Chloe before the events of the first season. Dontnod says that some of the choices from the prequel will make it to Life is Strange 2, but again, Life is Strange 2 will be a brand new story.
