It's been a little over a month since E3 2019, but that doesn't mean you can't still find new info hidden away in footage. One eagle-eyed fan noticed some conspicuous images in Halo Infinite and compiled them, leading to the discovery of unheard audio featuring a very well-known character.
Xeypal on Twitter pointed out an audio file, tagging 343 Industries' Dan Chosich to ask if it had been found before. You can find the audio file at this link, which contains some ominous footsteps and then the voice of—(spoiler warning)—our favorite blue-hued A.I. companion Cortana.
How exactly did Xeypal find this secret? Through a QR code, it turns out. But how they put together the QR code, I'll let them explain: "This is how I got it, took multiple screenshots of the red bars and put them all together, then I had to make the QR code."

Absolutely brilliant. The Halo team is no stranger to secrets, considering events like the I Love Bees ARG for Halo 2, but this is a pretty sly easter egg. And it's one that lasted a decent amount of time before being uncovered in this digital age.
While we only got a trailer of Halo Infinite at this year's E3, expectations are running high for the next entry in the series. As the leadoff batter for a new generation of games from Xbox, it could be a Breath of the Wild moment for Halo. Luckily, it sounds like the team is being given the time it needs to put it all together. We'll see how it pans out come holiday 2020.
