IO Interactive has been dutifully supporting Hitman since the developer's split with publisher Square Enix. In the past few months, the studio has updated the game with featured contracts and challenges in the game's existing maps. Things will be different this month though. In the news post for this month's content, IO Interactive offered up a date for when it'll reveal new Hitman stuff.
New Content Reveal. October 24.http://go.redirectingat.com?id=87431X1573192&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2FdMvvskPXWB pic.twitter.com/6JnVIg8Z52— Io-Interactive (@IOInteractive) October 6, 2017
"Mark this date on your calendars: October 24th. That's the date when we will reveal brand new content for the game," wrote IO Interactive community manager Travis Barbour. "We're going to let the announcement itself do all the talking, but there is one thing we want to clarify before then; this upcoming content is not 'Season 2'. We're saying that now to keep expectations in check."
So what does that mean? A new map feels like it would be big enough for the "Season 2" label. Perhaps a brand-new target and a rejiggered version of one of the existing levels? The teaser image feels like something you'd see in the office of a self-help guru. Will we kill a self-help guru in a new map or an existing one?
