Aloy is back, and there are some dinosaurs to hack. Horizon Forbidden West has been announced for the PlayStation 5.
The sequel to Guerrilla Games' techno-primal adventure looks to star Aloy once more, as she journeys to learn more about the truth of the world around her. The second game is headed for the PlayStation 5, as Aloy goes farther and deeper into the wildlands of Horizon—scaling mountains, diving under the sea, and more.
This time, Aloy's making her way through America. Her journey, of course, looks quite different from another recent post-apocalyptic jaunt through the U.S. (cough cough, Death Stranding), but it certainly looks true to the open vistas and combat of Horizon Zero Dawn.
The trailer ends with Aloy squaring up against a giant robot mammoth, impressively detailed and perhaps more ragged than the animalistic bots looked back on PS4. We also catch a glimpse of Lance Reddick's character Sylens, instantly recognizable under the distinctive garb of Guerrilla's far-future survivors.
A Horizon Zero Dawn sequel has been rumored for a while, with Videogameschronicle reporting in April that the sequel would be part of a planned trilogy for Guerrilla Games. The original game is making its way to PC sometime this summer, bringing the adventure to a new audience and expanding Sony's presence on the platform.
