Horizon Zero Dawn Roars Past 7.6 Million Sales Worldwide
A pretty good gift on the anniversary of its launch.
Horizon Zero Dawn celebrates its first birthday today. It's been a full year since Guerilla Games' sci-fi epic first graced PlayStation 4 consoles to critical and commercial success. Sony even announced that Horizon Zero Dawn has sold more than 7.6 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling new first-party franchise to launch on the PS4.
To celebrate, Sony is giving away a few Horizon Zero Dawn related goodies, including a free avatar and Photo Mode theme bundle which will be available tomorrow. The Photo Mode theme collects fan-made photo mode snaps into a new PS4 theme.

There will also be discounts on Horizon Zero Mode related products on PSN and the PlayStation Gear Store. The Modern Icons Aloy statue will be 25 percent off in the Gear store with the code 'anniversary' at checkout, while Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition will be 30 percent off for regular customers, and 35 percent off for PS Plus members through March 6.
"We had huge ambition for Horizon Zero Dawn and as we approached the launch we knew people were excited, but to see sales of this volume is truly mind blowing," said Guerrilla co-founder and managing director Hermen Hulst.
Since its launch, Horizon Zero Dawn has received numerous awards and accolades including Best Writing Awards from DICE and the Writers Guild Awards. Fans have also resonated strongly with the title, placing the game atop plenty of Game of the Year lists. If you haven't already you can pick up Horizon Zero Dawn now for the PS4.
